The Wilkens Library provides access to several streaming video platforms with a ride range of content including documentaries, feature films, and instructional videos. Below are links to the streaming video resources as well as information on how to share films and clips for each resource. Always remember to test any links that you are sharing to make sure they are working both on and off campus so that your students will be able to access the content!
If you need any assistance, please reach out to the librarians at refdesk@capecod.edu or give us a call at 774-330-4343. We can help locate films and help you with linking! If there is a film you want to show your class but are not finding it, let us know!
Academic Video Online (AVON) delivers 80,000+ titles spanning the widest range of subject areas including anthropology, business, counseling, film, health, history, music, and more. More than 19,000 titles are exclusive to AVON. Curated for the educational experience, the massive depth of content and breadth of content-types (such as documentaries, films, demonstrations, etc.) in Academic Video Online makes it a useful resource for all types of patrons.
Information on linking to and embedding films into your Moodle shells can be found in the Linking/Embedding Films from Kanopy section of our Linking to Library Resources page.
This resource is different from our previous streaming services in that this isn't a subscription where we have unlimited views of the entire video library. Instead, Swank contains a select number of films selected by librarians and faculty based on class need. If you are teaching an online class and you want your students to view a film as part of the curriculum, contact the library at refdesk@capecod.edu to see if the title is available.
Information on linking to films can be found in the Linking to Films in Swank section of our Linking to Library Resources page.
