A scholarly article comes from an academic journal, a periodical publication aimed at academics. Peer reviewed articles are evaluated by a panel of experts before they are published; articles may be accepted, sent back for revision, or rejected. Most databases allow you to limit your search to peer reviewed or scholarly sources.
