Where are the books?

The library uses a system of call numbers to organize our books.  You can browse the following sections for books about women and history:

  • E=United States History (General)
  • F=United States History (State and Local)
  • HQ=The Family. Marriage. Women

CLAMS Search Tips

Click on the icon above to search the CLAMS catalog.

  • Change the location to Cape Cod Community College to search only the Wilkens Library collection
  • Keyword search looks for the words you enter, as you enter them, in the system's records-author, title, subject, table of contents (if provided).
  • When you find an item you want, try clicking on the Subject links to find more books in the same area
  • Try a Subject Search for your topic.
  • You can request books in other CLAMS libraries by clicking on request and entering your library barcode and student ID#. 


Your Library Barcode

To borrow books from the Wilkens Library and to place requests or renew  books with the CLAMS catalog, you will need a barcode for your Student ID.  Get one at the front desk anytime we are open.  We can even make you a student ID after 4:00pm, Monday through Thursday.
