Who uses Chicago style?
The Chicago citation style uses two basic citation systems:
1) footnotes or endnotes with bibliographies that are best suited for topics in literature, history, and the arts (referred to as Notes and Bibliography, or NB).
2) in-text, parenthetical author-date references with respective reference lists that are best suited for topics in the physical, natural, and social sciences (referred to as Author Date).
